This famous artist of the Art Nouveau style, designed in 1917 a collection of Paris-France bonds.
The company was founded in 1898, with a shop in Paris to sell clothing and novelties for ladies, gentlemen and chilren, luxury and fantasy goods, specialities of Paris, travel goods, furnishings, food-products, etc… all in a high-quality range. Later it established many branches in provincial cities throughout France, under different names, and had an interest in other shops of a similar quality. The company finally closed downed in the late 1980’s.
Design by Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) well-known Czech artist. His carreer is closely linked with Sarah Bernhard, the great French actress : she gave Mucha contracts for posters, costumes, calendars and menus, and his fame spread by becoming a leader ion the flowery style known as Art-Nouveau with fine and delicate colours.
