The 9% Buoni del Tesoro Poliennali (BTPs) issued by the Italian Republic under Law No. 132 of 26 April 1975 and the D.M. (Ministerial Decree) of 13 September 1975 were a specific type of public debt securities issued by the Italian State.

Description

These 9% BTPs were similar to their predecessors, but offered a fixed interest rate of 9%. They were issued for a period of several years, usually 10 or 15 years, and investors received annual interest equal to 9% of the nominal value of the bond.

The special feature of these BTPs was the depiction on the cover of the bond. In the description you provided, the bond featured the Capitol Square and the Palace of the Senators as the main image. In addition, there was a watermark in the centre of the title depicting the Capitoline Moon.

The denominations available for these 9% BTPs ranged from 50,000 to 1,000,000 Italian lire (before the introduction of the euro). The colours of the bonds could vary depending on the issue and the year.
