The purpose of the company was the production of glass beads and crystal objects. The splendid Liberty certificate was conceived by the well-known illustrator Achille Beltrame (signature in the lower right edge). The title shows in the upper part the view of the island of Murano, site of the establishments. At the time of the discovery of distant countries, the great travelers greatly appreciated glass beads of various sizes and colors as a bargaining chip with the natives. Their production in Murano dates back to the 13th century. The pioneers of the sector were Cristoforo Briani and Domenico Miotti who, at the suggestion of Marco Polo who brought some samples from the East, began a craft production that over time became a real industry. In 1937 it took the name of Società Veneziana Conterie and Cristallerie.o.
