The Euro-tunnel share of the 19th century: the company planned the construction of a railway tunnel across the canal through which travelers would get to their destinations faster than was possible by ship. Only in our time, after more than a century, this project has become reality through Eurotunnel Plc. The bond shows the cliffs of Dover and part of the opposing French coast of the Channel. The lower part of the picture displays an exemplary cross-section through the Channel including the planned tunnel tube with railway.
