The Partito Nazionale Fascista (PNF) was an Italian political party that was an expression of the fascist movement.
Founded in 1921 from the transformation of the Fasci Italiani di Combattimento movement into a party, it led the so-called March on Rome that led to Benito Mussolini becoming Prime Minister in the autumn of 1922.
In 1923 it merged with the Italian Nationalist Association and, in the mid to late 1920s, became, first de facto then de jure, the sole party of the Kingdom of Italy until the fall of the fascist regime on 25 July 1943.
The official organ of the party was Il Popolo d'Italia, a daily newspaper founded by Mussolini in 1914. The anthem was Giovinezza, in Salvator Gotta's 1925 version, qualified as the Triumphal Anthem of the National Fascist Party. Law No. 645 of 20 June 1952 (the so-called Scelba Law) implementing the 12th transitory and final provision of the Italian Constitution prohibited the reconstitution of the party.
